Dr. Barbra Kraus graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 1999. She received Illinois Licensure in 2001. Dr. Kraus has training experiences with adolescents and their families in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized training in dual diagnoses. She went on to train in College Counseling Centers, completing her internship at University of South Florida’s Counseling Center for Human Development. She received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of sexual abuse survivors. Upon return to the Chicago area, Dr. Kraus has been working for over 10 years providing therapy to individuals, families and couples, as well as in the geriatric and chronic illness populations.
Dr. Kraus has current interests in mind-body connections as well as the issues of creating work-life balance. Dr. Kraus describes her orientation as integrationist, using systems in theory and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy pragmatically. Dr. Kraus considers the patient-therapist relationship a partnership.
